# [短百科]奥克兰西区人Westie

形容奥克兰的西区人，有一个“亦褒亦贬”的俚语Westie。奥克兰的西区、也就是Waitakere City，它的面积很大，包含了Massey, Te Atatu, Henderson, Sunnyvale, Glen Eden, Titirangi, Ranui，甚至还有New Lynn, Avondale等等比较靠近奥克兰中区的地方。

从前，很多西区人自称为Westie，因为他们对这个词感觉到自豪，传统的西区人单纯而勇敢、骄傲而善良。但是近些年来Westie有向贬义发展的趋势，如果一个居住在其它地区的奥克兰人说谁谁谁是“Westie”，那么恐怕潜台词里面是“粗鲁、傲慢、土气”等等含义。
