# 基督城附近发生4.8级地震，南岛各地震感强烈

2017年2月20日新西兰时间下午2时16分，新西兰南岛中部发生4.8级地震，新西兰地震信息网 Geonet 给出的地震等级为“强烈”Strong。

地震发生在南岛 Culverden 的西北部5公里处，震源深度24公里；该地区人口密度很低，以农场居多。

地震发生后20分钟，新西兰各地已有近800人次报告感觉到震动。

在这场地震之前的2017年2月12日， Culverden 西北部15公里处，发生5.2级地震，震源深度9公里。有超过1300人次报告感觉到震动，新西兰南北岛都有震感。
