# 新西兰英语俗语“从北到南”

任何一个地方都有习惯性的俗语，对于新西兰这个由南北二岛组成的、南北狭长、东西不宽的国家而言，形容它“从南到北”、或者说“从北到南”是有一个惯用语的。

这个用法就是：from the Cape to the Bluff；它通常指的就是“新西兰全境”也可以泛指“新西兰所有的…”。

Cape 指的是新西兰北岛最北的[雷恩加角 Cape Reinga](https://www.kannz.com/cape-reinga/)。

Bluff 指的是新西兰南岛最南的[布拉夫 Bluff](https://www.kannz.com/what-is-bluff-means/)。

有没有比布拉夫更南的？当然有了，“第三大岛”也就是斯图沃特岛，而且上面还有小一千人的居民居住，不过通常而言，对新西兰人印象最深的也就是“南北二岛”了，所以“从南到北”“从北到南”就用 from the Cape to the Bluff 啦。
