# 政府否认“惠灵顿正在死去”

到处都是关店歇业的惠灵顿，正在让很多惠灵顿市民绝望。

随着Pandoro、Egmont Street Eatery和Yvette Edwards等众多商店的关门，惠灵顿市的商业环境显得愈发凋敝。

雪上加霜的是，市中心Wakefield Street的道路因市政建筑的重大施工而封闭，这使得附近的商店难以吸引顾客，并且经营环境恶劣。

零售NZ首席执行官Carolyn Young表示，施工对商业区造成了“致命打击”，并指出这一问题与政府削减公共部门预算和生活成本上升有关。

现在的惠灵顿，随着越来越多的“For Lease”标志出现在空置商店的窗户上，已引发惠灵顿市民的担心。

23岁的Abigail Houghton表示，她因惠灵顿的文化而搬到这里，但现在感到十分失望。“看到店家都在关门，让我觉得城市的氛围在消失。”

学生Caelan Hermans也表示，由于许多餐饮业商店关闭，她减少了在咖啡上的开支。

“我认为这影响了惠灵顿的活力，真的很可惜。”

不过，政府财政部长Nicola Willis认为，尽管商店关闭，惠灵顿仍然充满创业和活力，并没有衰退。

而工党领袖Chris Hipkins则表示，现政府的政策对惠灵顿的影响尤为严重，整个经济都在感受到压力。

目前，惠灵顿从Lambton Quay到Courtney Place之间，大约有50家商店空置。
