# 英语俗语“奔向山丘” Run for the Hills

英语俗语中，你知道“奔向山丘”run for the hills 是什么意思吗？

从字面上看，它确实指的是向着山丘跑去或者是说跑上山丘去，比如说，海啸来了，或者泥石流来了，你要躲开危险地带最好的办法就是向山上跑。正式的来说，就是情况很糟糕，你应该尽早摆脱目前的处境，前往安全的地方。

于是，这个词就在英语俗语中被口语化的表示为“试图逃避”“逃跑”“尽快摆脱某种情况”甚至于说“离开这里”。

比如说，政治人物在回答媒体有刁难意味、难以回答的问题的时候，就会模棱两可、支支吾吾的给出答案；而一旦这种状态被媒体抓住了，媒体也就会问，你是在想要 run for the hills 吗？意思就是“请正面回答问题，别试图逃跑”。
