# 惠灵顿地区马斯特顿附近发生5.2级地震

新西兰首都惠灵顿地区附近的马斯特顿Masterton地区于新西兰当地时间2016年4月12日早上7.41分发生里氏5.2级地震，震源中心在马斯特顿以西15公里，深度24公里，最大强度达到5.2级；随后有二十余次小规模级别的余震在震中附近持续。本次地震的强度被新西兰GeoNet测定为“强烈”Strong。

马斯特顿靠近[新西兰最活跃的地震带](https://www.kannz.com/longest-active-faults-in-nz/)之一的 **Wellington–Mōhaka Fault** 该地质断层从库克海峡穿过惠灵顿一路向东北直到丰盛湾，是新西兰最长的活跃地质断层，每年发生几百次大大小小的地震。
