新西兰政府为了给房产市场降温，迫使境外投资人购买新西兰房产的时候必须办理新西兰的税号。新西兰税号申请对于新西兰居民而言并不难，但是对于希望购买新西兰房产、地产的中国大陆居民（无新西兰身份）则比较麻烦。简单来说，中国大陆居民申请新西兰IRD税号需要准备材料有：国内的税号证明（大陆居民税号就是身份证号码）、护照首页复印件、房屋买卖合同（或者新西兰认可的律师行、会计、房产中介公司出具的证明信）、新西兰境内商业银行的对账单、再加上填妥的IRD网站上下载的[IR742申请表](https://www.ird.govt.nz/resources/9/f/9f89c76d-f047-4bac-a153-83454206dd54/ir742.pdf?ref=kannz.com)。
